The Knihovny.cz portal uses cookies for its operation, which it needs to provide services to users. Cookies are also used for statistical metrics of traffic.

Using portal without logging in
If you use the Knihovny.cz portal (the Portal) without logging in, no personal data about you, your behavior, actions, etc. is stored on the portal.
Data stored after the user logs off
- If you log in using credentials of a registered user of one of the participating libraries, your unique identifiers from their library system are stored on the portal.
- If you want to log in, but you are not a registered user of any of the participating libraries, you can log in via one of the social networks (Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, MojeID) - in this case, your unique identifier from the given social network is stored.
- If you link your identities from several libraries or social networks, the portal also stores information that all these identities are yours.
- The portal also stores items from your book bag (if you use it) and the history of your saved search queries.
Data that the portal processes or displays to the user only during his login session
- This is data that the portal takes over from the library system of the library where the user is registered. These are, in particular, the name, date of birth, address, or telephone and e-mail address of the user in the form in which they are used by each of the libraries in which the user is registered. It is also the login name and user identifiers in the library system of the library, the registration status in each of the libraries, the list of loans, fees and possibly the history of loans there.
- All this data is used only for display to the user, or for performing other actions at the instruction of this user (entering and canceling reservations, etc.)
Deletion of personal data - right to erasure
All data that the portal keeps about the user can be removed from the portal:
- You can delete all your data stored in the portal in the section My account > Linked identities by using button
Delete portal account. - Information about the interconnection of identities can be deleted in the section My account > Linked identites by using button Disconnect identity.
- If you have stored any search queries on the portal in the past, you can delete them in the My account > Saved searches.
- Similarly, it is possible to delete items from the clipboard in the My account > Favorites.
Technical information (logs, statistics, etc.) is regularly automatically anonymized.
Credentials
For libraries with a login form located on the subdomain knihovny.cz, the portal runs a login proxy server, which allows users of the library to connect to the portal using a credentials from the library. In these cases, the portal takes the user's username and password and authenticates it on the library's server via the API. Otherwise, the portal does not the password store anywhere so that it cannot be misused.
